Graybridge Malkam is recruiting instructors to teach their native language for the following foreign languages:
AMHARIC, ARABIC, BAHASA MALAY, BAMBARA (Mali), BENGALI, BULGARIAN, BURMESE, CANTONESE, CREOLE (Haitian), CZECH, DANISH, DARI, DUTCH, FINISH, GERMAN, GREEK, HEBREW, HINDI, HUNGARIAN, ICELANDIC, INDONESIAN, IsiZULU, ITALIAN, JAPANESE, KHMER, KISWAHILI, KOREAN, LATVIAN, LITHUANIAN, MANDARIN (Mainland and Taiwanese), NORVEGIAN, PASHTO, PERSIAN, POLISH, PORTUGUESE (European and Brazilian), PUNJABI, ROMANIAN, RUSSIAN, SERBIAN, SINHALA, SORANI (Iraqi Kurdish), SPANISH, SWEDISH, SWISS GERMAN, TAGALOG, TAMASHEQ (Mali), TAMIL, THAI, TURKISH, UKRAINIAN, URDU, VIETNAMESE, WOLOF (Senegal).
The position consists of teaching foreign language (online) to highly motivated and engaged government employees. There are full-time and part-time positions available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide language / cultural intensive student-centered training for government professionals using Communicative Language Teaching Approach;
- Teach speaking, listening, comprehension, reading, and writing skills, as well as geopolitical, economic, cultural, and social issues, in an interactive immersion-based environment;
- Adhere to provided training plan (curriculum), program standards and objectives;
- Use technology and authentic & appropriate language resources to create a meaningful and varied learning experience;
- Work collaboratively with fellow teachers.
Minimum Competencies and Requirements:
- Be a native speaker of the language to be taught;
- Have at least a Bachelor’s degree in linguistics, languages, literature, foreign languages teaching, philology, or a related field;
- Have experience teaching the target language to adults learners;
- Be knowledgeable of the culture associated with the language or dialect taught;
- Be proficient in either or both of Canada’s official languages;
- If the Bachelor’s Degree is not in linguistics, languages, literature, foreign languages teaching, philology, have at least 500 hours of experience teaching the target language to adult learners;
- Be capable of using information & multimedia technology & tools (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Moodle, etc.), mobile devices;
- Be willing to complete a certification.
