Graybridge Malkam is seeking an experienced Backend & Database Developer to support the development, enhancement and maintenance of secure, database-driven applications.
Minimum Qualifications
- College diploma or university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- An equivalent combination of relevant education, professional certifications and practical experience may be considered.
- Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on database development experience.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL and MariaDB.
- Relational database design, development, optimization and troubleshooting.
- Backend application and service development using Node.js.
- Design, development and integration of secure APIs.
- Application-to-database integration and data transaction management.
- Authentication, authorization, input validation and secure coding practices.
- Experience with source control and modern software development practices.
- Candidates must possess or be able to obtain Government of Canada security clearance (Reliability or Secret level).
Assets
- AWS, Azure or other cloud platforms.
- Virtual machines and virtualization technologies.
- Docker or other container technologies.
- CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment.
- Experience developing applications in secure or government environments.
The ideal candidate combines strong database-development expertise with practical backend application and API development skills.
Duration
Full-time contract, approximately six (6) months or longer.
