Pronunciation for Professionalism: Clear Speech focuses on improving the clarity of speech, accent reduction, rhythm, intonation, and stress patterns in English and French. The course content includes how to monitor and correct your own pronunciation, increase your understanding of sound/speech patterns of the language, improve awareness of stress and intonation patterns and practice voice exercises.
Course Objectives
Participants in the Pronunciation for Professionalism: Clear Speech course will:
- Distinguish the correct sounds of standard English/French (listening discrimination)
- Adjust speech to the rhythm and intonation of English/French
- Practice and recognize new sounds with emphasis on problem areas determined by first language
- Speak clearly in wide-range of workplace situations with clients and colleagues
