Foreign Language Instructors: Teach your native language with us!

Graybridge Malkam is recruiting instructors to teach their native language for the following foreign languages:

Arabic, Cantonese, Creole, Dutch, Finnish, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kiswahili, Khmer, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Mandarin (Mainland and Taiwanese), Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (European/PALOP), Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Thai, Ukrainian, Vietnamese.

The position consists of teaching foreign language to highly motivated and engaged adult professionals.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide language/cultural intensive student-centered training for government professionals using Communicative Language Teaching Approach.
  • Teach speaking, listening, comprehension, reading, and writing skills, as well as geopolitical, economic, cultural, and social issues, in an interactive immersion-based environment.
  • Adhere to program standards and objectives.
  • Use technology and authentic & appropriate language resources to create a meaningful and varied learning experience.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow teachers and other team members.

Minimum requirements for teaching positions:

  • Be a highly proficient speaker of the language to be taught.
  • Have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in linguistics, languages, literature, foreign languages teaching, philology, or a related field.
  • Have experience teaching the target language to adult learners.
  • Be knowledgeable of the culture and society of the target language.
  • Be proficient in either or both of Canada’s official languages (English or/and French).
  • If the Bachelor’s Degree is not in linguistics, languages, literature, foreign languages teaching, philology, have at least 500 hours of experience teaching the target language to adult learners.
  • Be capable of using information & multimedia technology & tools, mobile devices.
  • Be willing and available to work on site and online.

 

Job Type: Part-time

Part-time hours: 15-30 hours per week

Location: In-person (115 Bisson Street, Gatineau, QC, Canada), online and hybrid (in-person and online).

Salary: $30.00 per hour
